Frankfurt / Main - The German stock market has recovered somewhat after the price slide on Friday at the beginning of the new week.
The leading index Dax fell to 15,309 points in early trading, but most recently it rose by 0.64 percent to 15,546.57 points.
The MDax of the mid-sized stocks also caught up on its early losses, it was up 0.15 percent in the afternoon at 34,072.44 points.
The leading Eurozone index EuroStoxx 50 rose by almost half a percent.
After the Dax had set a record at a good 15,800 points a week ago, the dangers of the Corona variant Delta and worries about an earlier US interest rate turnaround drove investors to begin with.
Varta shares fell 2.6 percent in the MDax.
A cooperation between the VW sports car subsidiary Porsche and the Customcells company in the construction of high-performance battery cells disappointed investors, according to dealers.
The VW shares mingled in the Dax with 1.7 percent among the biggest winners.
Even before VW, the 1.9 percent higher Covestro shares rose to the top of the Dax.
Among the MDax values, K + S became the front runner with an increase of 4.5 percent.
The shares of the salt and fertilizer group benefited once again from the prospect of good business.
Otherwise there was the next chair back in the Dax index family at the start of the week.
There were no changes in the Dax before the leading index is to be increased to 40 values in September.
In the MDax, however, Auto1 is now one of the members instead of the wafer manufacturer Siltronic.
The rise did not help, however: Auto1 shares fell by 2.7 percent, at times they were below 36 euros at a record low.
Siltronic finds its new home in the SDax, together with the Vodafone radio mast subsidiary Vantage Towers, which, with an increase of 1.7 percent, were among the better index values.
The euro last cost 1.1888 US dollars. The European Central Bank set the reference rate on Friday at $ 1.1898. The current yield on the bond market stagnated at minus 0.31 percent, while the Rex bond index rose slightly by 0.07 percent to 144.83 points. The Bund future fell 0.19 percent to 172.35 points. dpa
