Frankfurt / Main (dpa) - After the price slide on Friday at the beginning of the new week, the German stock market has recovered for the time being.
The leading index Dax slipped in early trading with 15,309 points to its lowest value in a month, but then managed the turnaround and most recently turned 0.18 percent up to 15,475.45 points.
The MDax of the mid-sized stocks also almost caught up with the early minus, after one hour of trading at 34,012.30 points, it was barely in the red.
The same as for the MDax also applied to the leading Eurozone index EuroStoxx 50.
After the Dax had set a record at a good 15,800 points a week ago, investors were recently driven by the dangers of the Corona variant Delta and worries about an earlier than intended US interest rate turnaround.
The latter was fueled by Fed member James Bullard, who on Friday brought a rate hike into play as early as 2022.
The big expiry day on the futures markets had contributed to the setback before the weekend.
On the corporate side, Varta shares were negatively in the spotlight, plummeting 3.6 percent.
According to dealers, a cooperation between the VW sports car subsidiary Porsche and the battery company Customcells disappointed some investors who had hoped that Varta would get a contract.
The Dax showed the usual picture on fluctuating stock market days: stocks with more defensive qualities were in demand.
These include, for example, real estate, pharmaceutical, telecom and utility stocks, as shown by price gains between 0.4 and 1.6 percent at RWE, Deutsche Telekom, Merck and Vonovia.
The papers of the German stock exchange, which benefited from more volatile days on the stock exchange, gained 0.9 percent
Otherwise there was the next chair back in the Dax index family this Monday.
There were no changes in the Dax before the leading index is to be increased to 40 values in September.
From now on, Auto1 is one of the MDax members instead of the wafer manufacturer Siltronic.
The rise did not help, however, the Auto1 shares fell recently by 4 percent, they were below 36 euros at a record low.
Siltronic finds its new home in the SDax, together with the Vodafone radio mast subsidiary Vantage Towers, which, with an increase of 0.7 percent, was one of the better index values.
The digital service provider Nagarro is also new in the small values index, and the leasing service provider Grenke is also returning.
However, these two stocks were down 1.9 and 0.8 percent, respectively.
For this, the printing press manufacturer Koenig & Bauer, the real estate investment manager Corestate and the auto supplier Leoni have to make room in the SDax.
Here the prices varied between a percent plus at Corestate and a setback in this size range at König & Bauer.
