The first round of regional and departmental elections, Sunday, June 20, was unlike any other ballot, so many voters deserted the ballot boxes.

Is it the testimony of an indifference, even a disaffection for political life?

Two out of three French people (66.7%) did not vote on Sunday.
Never has an election mobilized so little voters under the Fifth Republic, with the exception of the referendum establishing the five-year term in 2000 (69.8%).

The strongest abstention was noted in the Grand Est (70.4%), Pays de la Loire (69.3%), Île-de-France (69.1%) and Guadeloupe (69.1%) %).
Conversely, the voters who expressed themselves the most were in Corsica (42.9%), in Occitanie
