New home destroyed in 14 hours (@ sydsacks / TikTok)
A woman posted on Tiktok her sad story - from which one can only learn - she moved into her new apartment, only to see how it was completely destroyed after a designed lamp caught fire.
Sid Sachs said that just 14 hours after she moved into the apartment and finished designing it, she returned from lunch with friends to find out that her neon lamp with the caption, "Let's stay home," completely burned down her home.
Apparently she should have listened to her.
Sachs rented an apartment in Dallas and after moving in, she carefully designed it with lots of artwork, mottled pillows scattered around every corner, flowers, small tables, fur rugs and ... the problematic neon lamp.

This is what the apartment looked like before the fire (Photo: screenshot, @ sydsacks / TikTok)
As you can see - the design did not last. Not only did the lamp burn her wall, she also burned the couch, which caused the automatic fire extinguishers to start working and they wetted everything and destroyed almost the entire apartment. She uploaded a video with the caption: "I moved into my new apartment, and my neon sign burned it for me 14 hours later."
She then uploaded another video in which she tried to explain what had happened: "I moved into the apartment on Saturday, and on Sunday I got a message from friends asking if I wanted to come and have lunch. I put my dog with my parents who live in the same building. I left the light on without thinking about It". Minutes after the lamp came out it caught fire, made a hole in the wall, the smoke blackened the walls and ceiling and the fire also reached the sofa - which cost no less than $ 1,500.
Luckily, the fire did not get too far because the fire extinguishers were activated and saved the rest of the apartment from the fire.
However they caused flooding in the closet, laundry room, TV and destroyed almost everything that was in the apartment.
"The sprinklers stopped the fire, but there was a lot of damage afterwards from the smoke as well," she said.

She bought the lamp through the Etsy website where she had more than 10,000 rave reviews, "I thought I could count on it," she says.
In addition, the fire commissioner explained to her that he believed the problem was in the electrical outlet and not in the lamp itself, "the sign really warmed up and it caught fire and fell off the wall and burned my couch causing a bigger fire."
Luckily for her, Sachs has insurance that covers the damages, and no one was injured in the fire.
In the meantime, she returned to live with her parents until the apartment was repaired.
