Barely one in three trains on the RER C, D and E at off-peak and peak hours, half as many Transilien than usual on many lines and several rail links replaced by bus services ... Disruptions "Feared" were at the rendezvous, this Monday morning, on a large part of the transport network of Ile de France.

The call for a “regional” strike launched by several SNCF unions (Sud-Rail, CGT, CFDT, Unsa) was massively followed by the drivers. This social conflict - which occurs ten days before a call for a national strike launched by the CGT - concerns the overall working conditions of railway workers. But in Ile-de-France, it was coupled with a strong mobilization against a backdrop of growing concern among agents faced with the imminence of projects to open up public transport to competition.

Consequences: With the exception of the RER A and B (partially managed by the RATP) which are operating normally on Monday, all the other regional lines were disrupted by the strike. According to the AUT-IDF (association of transport users) line D, which has no interconnection on the central Châtelet-Gare de Lyon section, line P and line R (Montereau-Paris Gare de Lyon), on which many trains were replaced by buses, were the most affected.

Enough to give cold sweats to high school students who began this Monday the "great oral" of the new formula bac? Transilien had put in place its “SNCF Exams” assistance plan last week, for the start of the baccalaureate and in particular the philosophy tests. The device, which provides in particular for a reinforcement of the presence of information officers (red vests) in stations and the transmission of alerts to the rectorate in the event of a blockage on a line, was maintained on Monday and will remain in place until 'at the end of the exam period.

"The traffic is in line with the forecasts which were given on Sunday", it was indicated Monday at midday on the side of Transilien. Users had obviously anticipated any traffic difficulties on the rail network. Sytadin has indeed recorded new slowdowns in series on the road network around Paris. With 400 km of traffic jams accumulated at the morning peak of 9 hours but above all 350 km of traffic jams from 7:30 am while the “normal” slowdowns during this period do not exceed 200 km.
