On Saturday June 19, a fight between two inmates broke out at Valence prison, in the Drôme.
One of the two men was evacuated to the hospital in Valence, following a cardiac arrest, reports

While the two men are in the prison yard during the walking period, one of the two inmates begins to kick and punch the victim extensively, who falls to the ground.
The prison guards intervene, but the assaulted man lies on the ground, unconscious.
The supervisors then begin a cardiac massage to try to resuscitate the victim, while waiting for help.
Upon their arrival, the prisoner was transported to the hospital in Valence.

For his part, the attacker spent the night in a disciplinary cell in Valence prison. At the request of the prosecution, police arrested the attacker on Sunday, June 20 and took him into custody. The reasons for this fight are not yet known.
