In the video: A dog that disappeared in Kibbutz Afikim was found after two years in Umm al-Fahm (Walla system!)

More than two years have passed since the beloved dog Bracha disappeared from the yard of the Sadeh family home in Kibbutz Afikim.

The family members have already lost hope that one day they will find her, who was already 11 years old when she disappeared.

But this week, Sadeh was informed in a phone call from a resident of Umm al-Fahm that she had picked up the lost dog, after seeing her wandering the street.

"I still can't believe a blessing came back to us, it's really exciting. It's like a family member coming back," said the mother of the family Bar.

Sadeh also said that nine years ago she and her daughter Sivana adopted the dog.

"The girl was ten years old at the time and really wanted a dog. We heard that there was a small, neglected dog that someone had abandoned in Afikim, and that she was wandering around the kibbutz and that the laundry workers had adopted her. We turned to them and gave it to us for adoption," Bar said.

The bitch, who was about two years old at the time, is not a purebred bitch and most likely one of her parents is from a Chinese pug breed.

Bar and her partner Yoash said that Bracha became part of the house.

On Shavuot, more than two years ago, she was in the backyard, and then was no longer seen.

The latest evidence of being found that day was a report sent to them by the council inspector who photographed her without a leash, near the family home.

"We searched for her for several days in a row," the field couple said.

"We checked everywhere, looked at every pit. A lot of people from the kibbutz helped us search for it," they said.

Ash said he was sure Bracha died after being trapped under a structure or object or accidentally falling into a pit, but Bar said she was constantly convinced that Bracha was alive and that a thief who thought it was a purebred dog had stolen it.

As time went on, the family members realized that the chances of meeting her again were slim.

"Sivana was really sad for a long time," Bar said.

"It's hard to lose a bitch who was a part of our lives," she added.

The turning point in the plot took place last week on Bar's phone came a call from Salmas Hajaj, a resident of Umm al-Fahm.

"She asked me if my name was Bar and if I had a dog named 'Bracha,'" Bar describes the conversation, "I replied that I had a dog by that name, and I thought someone was trying to 'work' on me."

"I almost fainted from the excitement."

Later in the conversation, Hajaj told her that she had seen the little dog wandering in her neighborhood, and she picked her up and took her to a veterinary clinic in the city - where she works as a clerk. At the clinic, the bitch's identification chip was scanned and she was identified as a blessing, and there also appeared her owner and their phone number.

"After she sent me a picture of Bracha I almost fainted from excitement, but I still had a hard time believing she was found," Bar shared. They arranged to meet and Hajaj returned the dog to her family. "At first Bracha was confused and did not recognize me, and then all of a sudden after about ten minutes she suddenly started jumping on me happily," Bar described the meeting.

It turned out that in the two years that have passed since she disappeared, Bracha's hearing, which is now about 13 years old, has been almost completely lost.

But Bar and Yoash say that she is back as before to be part of their family.

Elisha, their six-year-old son, does not part with her, she sleeps in his room and he travels with her several times every day.

They also told how when Bracha sees a cat - she forgets that she is already old and deaf - and begins to chase after him like in her youth.
