A number of Arab lawyers called on the Security Council to act immediately to deter the Turkish and American occupations and force them to stop the crimes of cutting off water and stealing wheat and oil from Syrian territory.

The Deputy Assistant Secretary-General of the Permanent Office of the Arab Lawyers Union from Egypt, Lawyer Sayed Shaaban, pointed out that the Security Council is required today to intervene to put an end to the crimes of the Turkish occupation, especially the crime of cutting water for more than a million citizens in Hasaka and seizing the Euphrates River water as a violation of the agreements that regulate the way Take advantage of international waters.

Shaaban stressed that the theft of oil and wheat from the Syrian territories by the American occupation is in violation of international law and international legitimacy, calling for “referring to deal with these crimes in accordance with the provisions of Chapter Seven of the United Nations Law.”

For his part, Sudanese lawyer Zine El Abidine Muhammad Hamad affirmed that “the theft of the Syrians’ wealth and the assault on their lands by the Turkish and American occupations are a violation of international laws,” calling on behalf of Arab jurists “to discuss these crimes in the Security Council to deter Washington and Ankara and force them to apply international legitimacy.”

Palestinian lawyer Hussein Shabana pointed out that the lawyers participating in the meeting of the permanent office of the Arab Lawyers Union in Damascus affirm their solidarity with Syria and its right to defend its territorial integrity, stressing that the Turkish regime’s cutting off water from Hasaka and depriving citizens of it is a “crime against humanity that requires accountability and the prosecution of its perpetrators.” .

Shabaneh pointed out the need for the Arab Lawyers Union to adopt Syria's position in defending its citizens and "transfer the crimes of the Turkish and American occupations to the International Criminal Court," noting that targeting Syria is "part of the plans of the United States and the occupation entity to end the Palestinian cause."

The head of the Jordanian Bar Association, Mazen Rashidat, pointed out that the Turkish occupation’s crime of cutting off water from the people of Hasaka and thirst for more than a million citizens is classified as “war crimes and violates the Geneva Convention and is subject to international law and the International Criminal Court.”

Rashidat revealed that the permanent office of the Arab Lawyers Union is “working to form a committee that documents the crimes of the Turkish occupation in preparation for submitting it as a lawsuit on behalf of the people of Al-Hasakah to the International Criminal Court or to one of the European courts,” noting that “the union, in cooperation with the Syrian Bar Association, is documenting theft crimes of the United States.” The oil and wheat that come in the context of its anti-Syrian policies and the financing of its terrorist mercenaries.”

Moroccan lawyer Abdel Hafeez Bochentov pointed out that the Turkish regime’s occupation of some Syrian lands comes in the context of its aggressive policies and ambitions through the Turkification of these areas in an attempt to re-experience the occupation of Iskenderun, pointing out that the United States does not respect international legitimacy and international law since World War II until today.

Bochentov stressed that Arab lawyers are calling in international forums to stop the attacks and crimes of the American and Turkish occupations in Syria, expressing at the same time his confidence in the ability of the "resisting Syrian people to defend their land and defy the siege."
