Syria affirmed that the Turkish occupation forces, once again, repeated their crime of cutting off the water from the Allouk station for the twenty-fifth time, and the Turkish government's failure to heed the calls of the international community and the suffering of the residents of Al-Hasakah Governorate, who are facing more thirst today than ever before, a criminal behavior that amounts to a crime against humanity and a crime War due to its violation of all international covenants, conventions and human rights instruments.

Criminal behavior amounting to a crime against humanity and a war crime by violating all international conventions

In its statement, the ministry stressed that the Turkish government's failure to heed the calls of the international community and the suffering of the province's residents, who are more than one million people who are now facing more thirst than ever as a result of extreme temperatures, is a criminal behavior that amounts to a crime against humanity and a war crime. By violating all international charters, conventions and human rights instruments, all of which guarantee the right of every person to have access to safe drinking water and the right not to be subjected to arbitrary cessation of water supplies and pollution, and all states must respect it and not harm it.
Syria calls on the Security Council and the General Secretariat of the United Nations to immediately intervene to compel the Turkish regime to respect the most basic rules of international law and to restart the Allouk water station.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said: The government of the Syrian Arab Republic, while condemning once again these criminal practices of the Turkish occupation forces, calls on the Security Council, the General Secretariat of the United Nations and its specialized agencies to immediately intervene to compel the Turkish regime to respect the most basic rules of international law in this regard, restart the Allouk water station and re-pump the quantity Bilaterally agreed upon from the Euphrates River waters at the common border, which is 500 cubic meters per second, and to address these inhumane practices that aim at restricting civilians and depriving them of livelihoods and life, as well as obligating them to implement Security Council resolutions related to combating terrorism and with full respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and people of the Syrian Arab Republic and interference in its internal affairs.
