According to officials, they stopped the man at around 11:20 p.m. on Tölzer Strasse for control.
They discovered that his e-scooter was missing the insurance number.
The man could not prove liability insurance either.
The officers noticed that he smelled alcohol.
A breath alcohol test showed more than 0.5 per thousand.
The police prevented him from continuing his journey.
He is now awaiting criminal proceedings under the compulsory insurance law, including an administrative offense report due to exceeding the alcohol limit.
In this context, the Holzkirchen Police Inspectorate points out that according to the regulation on the participation of small electric vehicles in road traffic, e-scooters are classified as motor vehicles.
This means that the same alcohol limits apply to their drivers as to motorists.
