Farmers from Erding took part in a spectacular protest at a world-famous dairy.
Erding / Freising - The Association of German Dairy Farmers (BDM) demonstrated in front of the Weihenstephan dairy in Freising on Friday. Around 30 tractors drove up, 100 farmers took up positions in front of the factory premises, including from the Erding district. A wall was built out of bales of straw so that it was torn down again in a striking way. They wanted to symbolize the breach of the dam that would occur in agriculture if the dairies do not finally improve the framework conditions. They want to be able to live on the milk produced. BDM country manager Manfred Gilch grumbled that the costs kept rising, but the milk price was bogging down. mes
