Because Slyrs is also reaching its capacity limits, the whiskey brewers want to expand to the old Zeindl area.

Schliersee - Hard business in a culinary sandwich: In purely industrial terms, the metal construction company Zeindl on Bayrischzeller Straße in Neuhaus is a bit out of line.

While whiskey is ripening next door (Slyrs) and pestos are being prepared (Essendorfer), the Zeindls have sparks flying.

But even if most of the day trippers ignore the business when they stop for refreshments and go shopping, business with custom-made gates, banisters or awnings is as shiny as polished metal.

Metallbau Zeindl is planning a new building in Neuhaus - Slyrs wants to expand

So good that the company, with its current eight young employees, is planning an expansion - and thus also getting ready to jump out of the sandwich. The Slyrs distillery puts a high-proof disc on top of that.

As can be seen from the documents for the latest meeting of the Schliersee municipal council, the building committee reported on the project in a video conference at the end of April. Both Metallbau Zeindl and Slyrs would reach their capacity limits in the existing stock. The two companies have now found a solution. Zeindl is building a new production hall on a lease on an agricultural plot of around 2500 square meters at the exit to Aurach. In addition to the 35 x 15 meter locksmith building, the metal construction company also wants to keep open the option of a later extension (12 x 15 meters) with offices, social rooms and a subordinate works manager's apartment. After Zeindl's move, Slyrs can use the space that has become free for an expansion at the site. How,The municipality has not yet received any information on this.

What is certain is what is needed for the relocation of the metal construction company: land use planning.

Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer (CSU) recommended to the local council to integrate the property into the existing development plan on Bayrischzeller Straße and to change the zoning plan accordingly.

In principle, there is nothing wrong with the project, as the development on the other side of the main road extends further towards the end of the town anyway.

In addition, the applicant is a prosperous, domestic business enterprise that would otherwise not be able to grow due to a lack of suitable land in Schliersee.

In the end, the municipal councils also agreed. With the exception of Florian Zeindl (CSU), who was excluded from this item on the agenda as a person affected, everyone voted in favor of changing the development and zoning plan. However, the question of a possible depreciation raised by Karl Hiermeyer (PWG) still required clarification. Schnitzenbaumer referred to a municipal council resolution from the 1990s that precluded this from converting grassland into commercial space. On the one hand, the value of the property would not increase quite as much compared to the conversion into living space, on the other hand, commercial enterprises would bring tax revenue and jobs to the municipality. “And what if it turns into apartments later?” Asked Horst Teckhaus (PWG). Then of course a depreciation will be due, emphasized Schnitzenbaumer and named as an example the new residential area on the area of the former Fichtner woodworks, where this was practiced.

In any case, Jürgen Höltschl (CSU) was grateful for the decision of the local council at the time to forego the depreciation of value for businesses. "That is a sign of the settlement friendliness."
