Every weekend there is something going on between the university and Türkenstrasse.

It's anything but fun for the residents.

Not only the noise annoys them, also the legacies of the party people.

Munich - Alexander Seidel knows the university district inside and out: he has lived here for 40 years, he has been working in the gastro for 26 years, most recently in the "Alten Simpl".

He's been through a lot.

But what is currently going on every weekend in Munich * between the university and Türkenstrasse breaks all boundaries for him.

“I've never seen anything like it,” says the 71-year-old.

He likes parties, has been to the “Love Parade” in Berlin and raves in Zurich on a regular basis.

“I understand that young people want to celebrate,” he says.

And still has to shake his head in view of the escalations.

This weekend there was also a lot going on around Türkenstrasse.

On Sunday night alone, the police were called 284 times about disturbing the peace.

350 officers had been on duty since dusk that evening.

On the one hand, to enforce the new ban on glass bottles and glasses on Türkenstrasse.

On the other hand, to cordon off the area temporarily.

"Around 10 p.m. it got really full there," says a spokesman for the presidium.

Hundreds of people also commuted between the squares in front of the university and the Siegestor.

Reports were issued and the situation came to a head again and again: sometimes there were fights, sometimes a glass container was knocked over, sometimes annoyed residents poured out buckets of water.

On Friday night the police got stuck with communication: areas with 500 celebrating people had to be evacuated twice, and four arrests were made.

Despite everything, Seidel has the feeling that there have been weekends with more escalation.

The worst for him: the legacies of the partiers who use every entrance to the house and every flower pot to urinate.
