The investigation was opened "
for homicide on spouse at this stage, subject to (confirmation) of the qualification of spouse
", declared to AFP the public prosecutor of Saint-Omer, Patrick Leleu. The body of the fifty-year-old was discovered around 3:45 am, at the home of this woman who had herself called for help, he said, confirming information from the daily La Voix du Nord.
Heard at the Boulogne-sur-mer police station, "
she admitted having stabbed her companion (...) stressing that she did not want
" to kill him, added the prosecutor, without further details on the circumstances of the drama. "
A judicial investigation will probably be opened tomorrow, given the nature of the facts
" and the prosecution of Saint-Omer will relinquish jurisdiction in favor of that of Boulogne-sur-mer, competent in criminal matters.
