According to initial estimates, the outgoing president won 39% of the vote in the second round of regional elections, this Sunday, June 27, 2021.

He is on his way to a third term.

According to initial estimates, François Bonneau came out on top in the Center-Val de Loire region (39%).

At the head of the territory for thirteen years, the outgoing socialist president is well ahead of the candidate of the National Assembly, Aleksandar Nikolic (25%), the deputy LR Nicolas Forissier (20%) and the minister Marc Fesneau (16%).

The outgoing elected official was however threatened.

In the first round, it was after a close ballot with the head of the flame party list (22.2%) that he finally rose to the top (24.8%).

To face Aleksandar Nikolic, François Bonneau hurried to seal alliances on the left in the in-between rounds.

Already associated with the Communists, the Socialist has thus contracted an agreement with the EELV-LFI candidate Charles Fournier (10.8% of the vote on June 20).

For the RN, the Center-Val de Loire was one of the few hopes of winning a region. As for the majority, Minister Marc Fesneau was designated as the most likely among the Macronists to dominate one of the regional elections. But the candidate, credited with 16.6% of the vote in the first round, failed to mobilize more.
