Regional 2021 in Hauts-de-France: Xavier Bertrand reelected without difficulty

According to the first estimates, the ex-LR outgoing president of Hauts-de-France, Xavier Bertrand, is in the lead with more than 54% of the votes for the second round of the regional elections which was held. this Sunday, June 27, 2021. The elected official, also a presidential candidate, had conditioned the rest of his political life to a victory in his region.

Behind him, the candidate of the National Rally, Sébastien Chenu, won 25% of the vote.

At the head of an unprecedented left union, Karima Delli (EELV / PS / PCF / LFI) wins only two points compared to the first round and is placed in last position (21%).

The former minister of Nicolas Sarkozy was already on the right track since last week.

In the first round, Xavier Bertrand came out ahead with 41.42% of the vote.

Thus ahead of Sébastien Chenu (24.37%) and Karima Delli (18.97%).

On several occasions, the former LR had assured that he would refuse any alliance between the two rounds, in particular with the list of the presidential majority, eliminated at the first stage of the ballot (9.13%).
