Laurent Wauquiez was rather calm before the second round.
This Sunday, he was given the winner with 55.9% of the vote, according to the first estimates of Ipsos Sopra Steria for France Televisions, Radio France and LCP-National Assembly / Public Senate.
He would be ahead of Fabienne Grebert (LUG) with 32.7% and Andrea Kotarac (RN), with 11.4%, at the end of the second round of the regional in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
The former Republican president widened the gap last Sunday, leading the first round with 43.85% of the vote. With such a score, his next three opponents had to share a very meager share of the pie. It was the ecologist Fabienne Grebert who came second with 14.47% of the votes cast, ahead of the RN candidate Andrea Kotarac (12.32%) and the former socialist minister Najat Vallaud-Belkacem (11.42).
Faced with the results of the first round, the latter had decided to give up the second round by allying with Fabienne Grebert.
Cecile Cukierman, who won 5.57% of the vote in the first round, did the same.
But Laurent Wauquiez's advance was such… The first poll of the in-between rounds (OpinionWay for Cnews) in the region promised him a victory in an armchair, with 58% of the votes, against 29% of the votes for Fabienne Grebert and 13% for Andrea Kotarac.
