Six lists had the option of maintaining themselves, but the left-wing lists merged. Outgoing president Valérie Pécresse was sor

Bonus for leavers.

This was one of the lessons of the first round of the regional elections and it is confirmed this evening.

Valérie Pécresse will be back for a second term as president of the Ile-de-France region, obtaining 44.1% of the votes in the first round.

It is thus ahead of the union list of the left of Julien Bayou (34.6%), followed by Jordan Bardella (11.8%) and Laurent Saint-Martin (9.5%), according to the first estimates of Ipsos Sopra Steria for France Télévisions, Radio France and LCP-National Assembly / Public Senate.

Last Sunday, she had already far ahead of her opponents by obtaining almost triple the score of her runner-up, candidate RN Jordan Bardella.

The next five lists were held in a pocket handkerchief of 60,000 votes.

The left said it was certain it could still change the situation.

The reason ?

The merger of leftist lists around the ecologist Julien Bayou who has given some hope to the left.

The ecologist had obtained a score of 12.97% and took the leadership on the left, while the candidate invested by the PS Audrey Pulvar had not done better than 11.07%.

Clémentine Autain followed with 10.23%.

The Walkers, led by a Laurent Saint-Martin frankly supported by Minister Marlène Schiappa, were under 12%, at 11.79%.

In the end, the merger of the left was not enough to change the ballot.

It must be said that part of the left is strongly opposed to the socialist and ecological alliance with rebellious France.

Jean-Paul Huchon and Manuel Valls had called to vote Pécresse.
