The Seefelds have decided: with 2200 against 1498 they voted in a referendum on Sunday for a clinic location not far from the Hechendorfer cemetery.

In essence, it was about landscape protection.

The count dragged on for a long time.

Seefeld

- "Are you in favor of the Seefeld community creating the planning legal requirements for the construction of a new hospital on an area east of the new cemetery on Bahnhofstrasse?" Nine votes. With this, the council request received a clear majority of 59.4 percent of the valid votes. The official result will not be announced until tomorrow.

The Starnberg clinics and the district are planning to build a new 200-bed house on an area on Bahnhofstrasse near Hechendorf that will accommodate the existing Seefeld hospital.

A merger with the Schindlbeck Clinic in Herrsching, which is also owned by the district, is planned.

From the point of view of the municipality, this turned out to be the best among several locations, even though it is in the nature reserve.

The Seefeld municipal council recently declared a petition against the location to be inadmissible due to legal issues.

The count dragged on for more than two hours, as only postal votes were possible in the referendum and numerous election letters had been received on Sunday.

In addition, careful attention had to be paid to invalid votes, the number of which was quite high.
