The death toll from a building collapse near Miami, Florida, has risen to nine.
"We were able to find four additional bodies among the rubble, in addition to human remains, which makes me confirm today that the death toll is nine," the Mayor of Miami (Dade Daniela Levin Cava) told reporters today, AFP reported.
She indicated that work is being done to identify the identities of the new people who were found, as the local police had previously announced the identities of four of the victims who were first found.
The mayor did not clarify the new exact figure for the missing, knowing that it rose on Saturday to 156.
And before dawn last Thursday, 12 floors of the complex (Champlain Towers) overlooking the ocean in Surfside collapsed, affecting 55 apartments.
