How long have you been with the Red Cross?

All in all, I have been a full-time member of the Red Cross for 22 years.

I've already done a lot: I'm an assistant to the management and have also worked on meals on wheels and the emergency number.

I've been in the Miesbach service center and in the clothes store since 2017.

What is special about working in the clothing stores?

I have always enjoyed being human at the Red Cross.

In the clothes shops we work with people all the time.

Some customers just come by to have a chat or to get advice on our offers.

Meeting lots of people is always very varied.

I like working close to the people.

How do the clothes get to the stores?

Donors bring the clothing to us.

Then we prepare the things and sell them on at low prices.

Anyone can come by the way.

You don't need any special authorization, everyone can shop with us.

100 years of the DRK: On-call manager on "crazy things" in the corona pandemic

Who will buy from you?

That is very mixed.

Families, refugees, the elderly, citizens of all ages come to us.

Has anything changed as a result of the corona pandemic?

The clothes stores had to close depending on the seven-day incidence, as had other stores.

We look at the numbers every day.

In the service center, we still try to be there for the people as best we can.

Due to the crisis, however, the demand for clothing has increased significantly, also in the table.

At the same time, less is given than before the pandemic, although we continue to accept donations.

The service center is open despite Corona.

We are happy that it is fully open again and hope that the citizens will bring more clothes again.
