The teams and mechanisms of the Directorate of Agriculture of Hama, Masyaf, and Fouh Al-Fifa are continuing their efforts to put out the fire that broke out today in the forests and agricultural lands in the Al-Qubbah district of the northwestern Masyaf countryside.
Engineer Abdel Moneim Sabbagh, director of Hama Agriculture, said in a statement to SANA reporter that a fire broke out in the mountainous forests of the al-Qibbah sub-district, and the firefighting teams are currently working to put it out, indicating that the rough terrain of the area, the density of vegetation cover and the inability of mechanisms to reach the place where the fire broke out due to the absence of agricultural roads and fire lines are all factors. It was difficult for the firefighting teams to control the fire, in addition to strong winds that fanned and renewed the fire.
In turn, Madian Al-Ali, director of the Forestry Firefighting Center in Hama Agriculture, said that an agricultural fire broke out in the remains of harvest in the village of Al-Qaba and spread to the forests of the village of Al-Qurayyat due to the high temperatures.
He indicated that 100 firefighters with 5 tankers contribute to the operations of extinguishing and controlling the fire, but the difficult terrain of the area and the high temperatures help the fire to spread to the depths of the forest areas.
