On this point, we must differentiate between results and dynamics. The weak mobilization benefited the PS and the Republican right for two reasons. First, there is a bonus for graduates, linked to a balance sheet and their notoriety. Then, abstention does not traditionally affect the wealthy and elderly social categories who represent the electoral base of the government right and can, more marginally, end up on a PS vote. We should therefore not make these elections plebiscites, 8% of voters in Ile-de-France put a Pécresse bulletin in the ballot box during the first round, 14% a Wauquiez bulletin in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
