The quantities of summer vegetables produced in Al-Hasakah Governorate and offered in its markets amounted to 16 thousand tons of various varieties.
In a statement to SANA's reporter, the head of the Plant Production Department in the Directorate of Agriculture, Jalal Bilal, indicated that the marketing of farmers' production of summer vegetables, which began early this month, is increasing, which contributes to securing citizens' needs and stabilizing their prices.
For his part, Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Ignatius Kasbo, stated that marketing vegetables produced in the governorate in the local markets contributed to the availability of various varieties and the decrease in their prices significantly compared to the previous month, noting that the marketing of summer vegetables usually continues in the markets until the end of next September.
It is noteworthy that the area planted with summer vegetables for the current season is estimated at 8,500 hectares distributed throughout the governorate.
