A bang at the Erding District Association of Workers: The Presidium dismissed the full-time executive board with immediate effect on Monday.

Karin Seibt and Christian Cosimo have lost their jobs.

Instead, an interim managing director, Stephan Knörrich, was appointed.

Erding - He should now clean up with the support of district and state chief Nicole Schley.

The day care centers and school social work are not affected by the fall, operations in the six facilities will continue under the previous management, Schley assures in an interview with our newspaper.

It was she who went public with the news at around 1.30 p.m. on Monday.

In a press release it says: The dismissal "was necessary because the relationship of trust between the Presidium and the Board of Directors was permanently strained." At the district association, incidents were found "which contradict the value system of the AWO as well as the internal regulations".

When asked, Schley did not want to be more specific, especially since the proceedings are pending and a legal dispute is likely.

According to research by our newspaper, there have been financial misconduct, among other things.

There shouldn't even be a budget for the current year.

There is also talk of employing members of the Board of Management.

Schley has announced that he will deal with the incidents quickly.

"It's also about protecting our volunteers and other employees."

That is why an interim managing director has been hired, who, according to Schley, has already been given a large number of documents.

The AWO district association has also brought in an external auditing company - it seems to be about a lot of money.

Presidium member Beate Sitte explains that there was no alternative to being kicked out, "even if it was not easy for us to resign for human reasons".

The fact that the six daycare centers and school social work are not affected is important to Schley.

She admits here past discrepancies in the settlement of grants and reimbursements.

But they are in the process of reaching an agreement with the state and district office.

According to Schley, all voluntary offers continue to run.

The Presidium, consisting of Alexander Gutwill, Beate Sitte, Lydia Brosow, Markus Marschall and Hans Schmidmayer, has adopted a three-point plan "to completely deal with the past and sustainably strengthen the future structures", as the averaging of the AWO district association is called. Interim managing director Knörrich will “analyze all processes and uncover weak points that made the irregularities possible”. Second, the Presidium will use this to create a catalog of measures to counteract future compliance violations. External experts will be called in for this if necessary. Thirdly, controlling is to be improved. The new management will have to let the presidium take a closer look at the fingers. According to the articles of association, the latter functions as a kind of supervisory board.

This presidium made headlines in 2019.

The association is still concerned with an irregular election today.

Because especially to his own surprise, AWO and SPD veteran Fritz Steinberger failed.

He challenged the choice.

Since then there has only been the body, but no president.

Schley emphasizes that this case has nothing to do with the dismissal of the board.

However, she is aiming for new elections as soon as possible in this body in order to calm the association down.

Unresolved questions here could have given rise to possible omissions by Seibt and Cosimo.

Schley on the current development: "I'm horrified."
