Gabriel Batistuta made a presentation in court to declare
the Wealth Tax unconstitutional
, a path that other sports figures such as Carlos Tevez and Diego Placente have already traveled.
The former scorer of the National Team and Fiorentina presented the brief in the Administrative Litigation Court No. 2, in charge of Esteban Furnari.
With this appeal, Batistuta said that the tribute is
"confiscatory"
, as confirmed to
Clarín
sources in his environment.
The Solidarity and Extraordinary Contribution -according to the formal name given by the law promoted by Máximo Kirchner- reaches human persons and undivided estates resident and non-resident in Argentina for all of their assets in the country and abroad for all of its assets, provided that they exceed the
sum of $ 200 million.
The Wealth Tax implies a one-time payment corresponding to
2% of the assets.
The proceeds, according to regulations, would be used for the purchase of medical equipment, subsidies for SMEs, Progresar scholarships, improvements in popular neighborhoods and projects related to natural gas.
But the norm accumulates questions in the courts.

Batistuta
is not the first ex-footballer
to go to court to have the tax declared unconstitutional.
Placente, Christian Bassedas and Renato Civelli already did.
Born in Reconquista, Batistuta always maintained ties and investments in the world of agriculture.
And he has been critical of official policies before the sector.
He also criticized Alberto Fernández's sayings about the value of merit and "meritocracy."

More resounding was the case of Tevez.
In the days before the expiration date, the forward - who recently left Boca - also argued that it was a "confiscatory" tax.
His presentation fell to the Contentious Administrative Court Nº4, in charge of Judge María Teresa Ailán.
In the field of sports, the polo players
Facundo, Gonzalo and Nicolás Pieres
, from La Ellerstina,
also submitted requests to the federal court

At the beginning of May, the AFIP had reported that
80 percent
of the universe of taxpayers on whom it bet made the payment of the extraordinary tribute.
The agency detailed at that time that, on the contrary, 200 taxpayers had initiated legal actions and that another sector had not even presented the declarations.
Faced with this situation, the AFIP itself initiated
audits as a method of pressure
