A cyber attack temporarily paralyzed the entire Himolla upholstered furniture factory in Taufkirchen.

There is talk of blackmail, there is speculation about a huge sum of millions.

At least that's what people and citizens say about it.

Taufkirchen - The news spread in no time.

A stranger apparently cracked the code on June 18 and hacked into the traditional company's computer network.

The employees were written to by their department heads.

They were informed that from the following Monday there would be no work in either production or administration.

“At first I thought it was fun,” says one employee.

The Polish employees who had gone home over the weekend were also informed that they did not have to come.

A few days later it was said that the workforce should stay at home until July 2nd, but be available for last-minute changes.

“Production and administration, everything has been shut down,” confirms another employee.

Meanwhile, a few drives should work again, but he doesn't know to what extent.

In any case, production could start again on July 5th at the earliest, he said.

This Thursday there will be another meeting at which an official timetable will be worked on, as some departments could start again sooner.

Apparently, operations are to be started up again gradually.

For the company, this means a "massive failure" in any case, because everything has been dragging on for so long, the employee continues.

The corridor radio works, even when the majority of the workforce is at home.

The management holds back with statements.

Managing Director Ralph Bestgen explains to our newspaper: “At first we won't say anything about the ongoing proceedings.

We had a hacker attack.

We shut everything down for security reasons. ”Now we're gradually going back online.

“We work normally in administration.

The factory is still at a standstill.

But we are in the process of gradually ramping up all the affected areas, ”says Bestgen.

More will be known by the end of the week.
