Miesbach

- The upcoming summer holidays are very special for Rainer Dlugosch, because they will never end: School free forever, you could say. Because the director of the Miesbach grammar school is retiring. And earlier than he actually ought to.

"It is a voluntary decision to leave earlier," explains Dlugosch when our newspaper asked.

Although he has a lot of fun with his work, his scheduled departure in mid-February 2022 is rather unfavorable in view of the calendar and school operations.

“It is a thankless task to have to take over in the middle of the school year,” explains the 64-year-old.

Especially since the current evaluation of the staff is due in 2022 - a task for which it is simply important to know the house and around 90 colleagues.

“This is exactly the situation I don't want my successor to face.” In 2013, Dlugosch moved from the grammar school in Tegernsee to Miesbach as deputy headmaster.

The Tölzerin is looking forward to a new challenge near her home.

In terms of content, new impulses can be expected.

She not only teaches English, French and Italian, but has also worked in the area above.

After her first stint at the grammar school in Neufahrn (Freising district), she moved to the Ministry of Culture, where she was responsible for the modern languages department for five and a half years and was responsible for personnel planning.

She then headed the Modern Languages department at the Institute for School Quality and Educational Research for three years before moving to Bad Tölz.

Dlugosch has yet to realize that his teaching and school management career will end with the summer holidays.

“I'm someone who likes to plan, but that's not possible in this case,” he says.

"But I will not remain inactive." He liked to spend his time in school - now I stay more for his hobbies like sports.
