Service projects completed in the city of Maliha and the town of Yalda after their liberation from terrorism, with the support of the civil society, included the rehabilitation and maintenance of roads, water and sewage networks, some electrical transformers and schools.

The head of Al-Maleha City Council, Engineer Omar Assas, said in a statement to SANA’s delegate that working with the civil society and some international organizations resulted in the rehabilitation and repair of 80 percent of the city’s sewage network, the repair of car parks and the installation of modern covers for the remaining part of the network, at a value of 25 million Syrian pounds.

Isas pointed out that the entire water network has been rehabilitated and nine pumps have been installed on a group of wells, which are ready to be pumped into the network. There are similar projects to come that will be implemented in cooperation with the civil society.

Isas confirmed that 7 out of 12 schools have been rehabilitated so far, accommodating 3000 male and female students, five of which were qualified by some international organizations and two by the civil society, pointing out that the remaining schools will be rehabilitated during the coming period.

Isas indicated that 15 electrical transformers were installed in the neighborhoods of Maliha, 6 of which were rehabilitated and maintained by the civil society, and two are under repair.

In the town of Yalda, the head of the Municipal Council, Muhammad Hamed, pointed out, in a similar statement, that a lighting project for all the main streets in the town had been completed at a cost of 15 million pounds, and the rehabilitation of the middle of the main town street and Al-Basel roundabout, pointing out that the implementation of the garbage removal project from Daf Al-Shouk to Deir Al-Hajar at a cost of 55 million pound.
