Israeli officials also noted that both the Bennett Bureau and the White House want the visit to take place as soon as possible.

The time window discussed these days is from July 18 when the US Congress returns from recess.

The Prime Minister's Office confirmed that talks are underway to coordinate a visit to the White House, adding that a final date will be set soon.

A U.S. source close to the visit noted that the fact that Biden called Bennett only two hours after he was sworn in as prime minister shows how much the president is interested in working with him.

The source noted that the White House believes that the government in Israel, which connects parties with different views that find a way to work together, is an example for other countries in the world where there is a sharp political split.

Interested in working with Bennett in a good way.

Meanwhile, Biden will meet today in the White House with President Reuven Rivlin, who will be the first Middle East leader Biden has hosted in the Oval Office since taking office in January.

A source involved in preparations for Rivlin's visit noted that Biden is expected to explain to the Israeli president why the United States thinks diplomacy is the best way to "put the Iranian nuclear program back in the box."

However, Biden is expected to make it clear to Rivlin that the United States does not know if and when an agreement will be reached with Iran.

He will emphasize that in any case the state recognizes Israel's right to defend itself against Iran and will make it clear that if diplomacy fails and Iran explodes into a bomb - the United States may take other measures to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons.

US Secretary of State: Normalization agreements are not a substitute for dealing with the Palestinian issue (Photo: Reuters)

At the same time, yesterday (Sunday) Foreign Minister Yair Lapid met in Rome with US Secretary of State Blinken.

This was the first meeting between the foreign ministers since the formation of the new government in Israel.

At the beginning of the meeting, Lapid hinted that the Netanyahu governments had damaged relations between Israel and the United States.

"Mistakes have been made in recent years, Israel's bipartisan status has been damaged, we will fix it together," Lapid told Blinken.

Lapid also told Blinken that Israel has serious objections to the nuclear deal that is emerging these days with Iran, but in another sting in Netanyahu's direction, he stressed that "the place to discuss these objections is in direct professional discourse, not at press conferences."
