Mont-de-Marsan: the alleged murderer of Laura Fay found dead in his cell

Virgile Bourdon was to be tried next January before the Landes Assize Court, after having confessed in police custody, in early 2019, the murder of his companion Laura Fay.


Virgile Bourdon, indicted and imprisoned since January 25, 2019 for murder by spouse on the person of Laura Fay, who disappeared in August 2018, was found dead in his cell on June 28, 2021, announced the public prosecutor of Mont -de-Marsan (Landes).

At 9.25 am this Monday, "

a prison supervisor discovered Virgile Bourdon inanimate in his cell, lying on his bed,

" said Olivier Janson, public prosecutor of Mont-de-Marsan, in a

press

release.

In spite of a cardiac massage by the supervisors then the emergency services, “

the death of Mr. Bourdon was noted at 10:15 am

” by the SAMU.

Seen "the same morning, in apparently normal state of form"

The 35-year-old detainee presented "

no identified pathology

" and had been seen "

the same morning shortly after 7 am, apparently in a state of normal form

".

A procedure in search of the causes of death was entrusted to the police station of Mont-de-Marsan.

At present, "

the first elements collected do not highlight any clue likely to direct the investigation towards a passage to the suicidal act

", indicates the prosecutor, who announced the holding of an autopsy in the week.

He would have returned after dark to better hide the body, in the middle of the bushes of a forest path. Laura Fay's body was found in January 2019. Virgile Bourdon's lawyer, Anthony Sutter, reacted on Twitter, explaining that he was the last person outside to have seen the alleged murderer last week, relates France Blue.
