Police detain six members of a Latino gang for attacking a 13-year-old boy with machetes in Usera

Agents of the Provincial Information Brigade of the National Police of Madrid arrested six members of the Dominican Don´t Play (DDP), the most active Latin gang currently in the region, on June 23 for attacking a group with machetes. of young people in a park in Usera on April 26. The police have no evidence that he belonged to any gang, like the rest of the boys who accompanied him and who also fled when they were attacked.

The detainees in the so-called Zeus operation, which became known this Monday, are four minors between 15 and 17 years old and two older, between 19 and 22. They are accused of a tentative crime of homicide, robbery with violence and organization criminal.

The minors have already gone to the disposition of the Prosecutor's Office and the older ones, both with prior records, have been brought to justice.

The oldest of those arrested has already entered prison, according to police sources.

In the four searches carried out in Madrid (2) and Cuenca (2), the agents found abundant weapons, among which were machetes and knives, telephones, as well as literature and symbols related to the gang.

According to the police, the group of young people attacked was playing cards on April 26, at around 9:30 p.m., in the park when “they were attacked by several individuals armed with machetes and knives, shouting:“ Love of 3! ″, The slogan of the DDP.

The boys tried to flee, but two of them were caught by the attackers and one came out very badly, with severe head injuries that have kept him in an induced coma for several days.

The investigation of the agents of the Provincial Information Brigade led them to identify the alleged perpetrators, "known members of the DDP and prominent positions of the gang," the investigators say.

On June 11, agents from the same brigade detained six other members of the same gang, "the most active and numerous at the moment", in the Madrid district of Carabanchel.
