Damascus-SANA

Syria condemned the blatant US aggression on the Syrian-Iraqi border region, considering the aggression a flagrant violation of the sanctity of Syrian and Iraqi lands.

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement to SANA: The Syrian Arab Republic condemns the blatant American aggression on the Syrian-Iraqi border region and considers it a flagrant violation of the sanctity of Syrian and Iraqi lands.

The source added: This aggression, which was directed by the highest American leadership, proves once again the recklessness of American policies and the need to withdraw its aggressor forces from it in response to the desires of its peoples and constitutional institutions.

The source added, "These attacks exacerbate the explosive situation in the region and prove what we have repeatedly said in Syria that the US military presence in our region is directed primarily to serve the Israeli goals and the separatist forces, and in contradiction to the interests of its people."

The source concluded by saying: The Syrian Arab Republic renews its demand to the US administration to respect the unity of the land and people of Syria and Iraq and to stop immediately these attacks on the independence of the two countries.
