The Hong Kong Football Association was severely criticized for poor administration last year. The director of corporate governance in charge of related issues was suspended for one year, and a new person eventually took over.

However, the FA has dealt with the news of personnel changes coldly. The new Lian Junjun (29) yesterday has the same football-related background as the new CEO Tan Qiulang.

The FA was exposed in an audit report last year for mismanagement. Afterwards, various senior executives explained to the Legislative Council’s Accounts Inquiry Committee, but they “drew more and more black”.

Among them, Huo Qing, the former governing director of the FA, with an annual salary of over one million, was severely criticized for negligence and eventually resigned on his own.

After the Director of Corporate Governance was suspended for nearly a year, the FA finally found a new candidate.

However, the Football Association once again acted "quietly" after only a low-key announcement on the official website that the new CEO Tan Qiulang took office. Yesterday, it suddenly updated the secretariat structure table, showing that the new corporate governance director is Lian Jun.
