The Iraqi poet Abdel Moneim Hamandi and texts of his poems were the guest of the literary meeting held by the Arab Writers Union, in addition to critical readings in his poetry collection “The Night of the Forest” presented by the poet Helena Atallah.

Hamandi presented readings of poetic texts that varied between different forms and genres, which were dominated by activation, including “How to Return to the Homeland”, “Digging on an Iraqi Obelisk”, “The Night of the Forest” and “Suffice me to wave a rose” through which he shed light on the Iraqi mother and the tragedies they have been exposed to. And conspiracies and their love for Syria and their great association with it.

As for the poet Atta Allah, she saw that the poet Hamandi overcomes his poems with sadness and pain because joy in his time is fleeting and sometimes fades, pointing out that the war on Iraq was a motive in writing many of his texts that are characterized by humanity, goodness, truth and beauty, in addition to shedding light on the structural foundations on which he wrote texts.

As for the writer Riyad Tabra, who moderated the meeting, he referred to many of the books published by the poet, including “Atek tomorrow” and “Awal al-Nar” in addition to writings on criticism and research, including the prince of the wretched Baghdad and others.

The meeting included interventions by some writers and writers that shed light on some positive aspects of the poet.
