Havana-Sana
An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 hit western Cuba today, causing the evacuation of some buildings.
"AFP" quoted the National Seismological Center of Cuba as saying that the quake had a magnitude of 5.5, noting that this tremor is the fourth of its kind that was monitored in 2021 on the Cuban island.
The center stated that the tremor did not cause any material damage or injuries.
The region witnessed a violent earthquake in January 2020, with a magnitude of 7.7, which occurred in the Caribbean region between Cuba and Jamaica, but no damage was recorded despite the implementation of evacuations from Havana to Miami in the United States.
