On June 29, 1906, Pedro Linares López was born in Mexico, recognized as the "father of alebrijes," and in a tribute to his colorful imagination, Google dedicated a doodle to him.
Alebrijes are traditional crafts from the state of Oaxaca, in southeastern Mexico.
Decorated with many colors, these figures represent fantastic animals that come from the imagination of the artisans.
Linares López created his majestic pieces based on papier-mâché, but it is also very common to find them carved in copal wood.
