Climate change activists gathered in front of the White House today to protest against US President Joe Biden's breach of his campaign promises regarding global warming and environmental pollution, and his submission to Republican blackmail in the US administration.
Reuters reported that the protesters carried banners that read, "Biden, you coward, fight for us."
A member of the Sunrise Movement, which organized the protest, said: “Biden ran on a promise to take action on climate change and we went out to elect him. We did everything we could to elect him and we need to have a say in our future and the safety of our communities.” On campaign climate fades as he negotiates with Republicans.”
Biden had pledged in his election campaign to pursue a "real trend of transitioning to 100 percent renewable energy by 2050 to zero carbon emissions."
In one of his speeches, he revealed a plan to combat climate change worth two trillion dollars that would develop the American energy sector and strive to achieve energy free from carbon pollution in only 15 years, a promise that the participants believe will not be implemented.
