At around 1 p.m., according to the Tyrolean police, a 20-year-old German drove his motorcycle with the appropriate equipment on the Rissaler Strasse coming from Vorderriß in the direction of Hinterriß into the valley.
At the same time, a 55-year-old German was riding his racing bike in the opposite direction out of the valley.

Immediately in front of the Leckbach Bridge there was a collision between the motorcyclist and the cyclist for a previously unknown cause, with both men falling.
After the collision with his motorcycle, the motorcyclist slid about 25 meters further and was injured immediately in front of the Leckbach.

The cyclist was seriously injured and lay on the road.
Uninvolved road users immediately began the first aid measures and notified the rescue workers.
Despite the rescue measures by the first aiders and the emergency doctor, the 55-year-old cyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident.
The 20-year-old motorcyclist was brought to the hospital in Murnau by the rescue helicopter after first aid at the scene of the accident.
Road must be closed during the accident recording
Rissaler Strasse had to be closed to all traffic for the duration of the accident.
