There are many indications that vaccination fatigue has broken out in the Freising district.

Now the government is also causing uncertainty.

Freising

- The cancellation of the vaccination prioritization announced by Prime Minister Markus Söder on Monday has caused massive uncertainty in the Freising district.

Many people who are in prioritization group 3 and have been waiting for their first injection for weeks have asked how things are going now, reports Hubert Böck, deputy head of the Freising vaccination center.

"Our problem is that we were not told which system should go on and we could therefore not provide any reliable information."

Many people let vaccination appointments slip by on a daily basis

As Böck announced, 5550 people from the district are currently registered who are assigned to priority 3.

"It would have been ideal to only cancel the vaccination prioritization when the prioritized had received their first vaccination," says Böck.

Only then should it go according to the order of registration.

There are currently more than 20,000 registrations to be processed via the online portal.

However, the evidence of a certain vaccination fatigue is now also increasing in the district.

Böck reports that almost all those invited would come for the first vaccination.

“With a second vaccination, however, 30 to 40 people miss their appointments every day without excuse.

It is possible that some of them received their second vaccination from their family doctor.

But we don't know. "

Just nine registrations for vaccination with Astrazeneca

Particularly striking: Only nine (!) People have registered for the special campaign with Astrazeneca, which is to take place over the next two weekends for those who have recovered - with 800 cans available. According to Böck, the vaccine could also play a role here. At the moment, due to the low incidence, the vaccination pressure is not that high. “That's why a lot of people are no longer willing to take this vaccine, the acceptance of which has simply suffered badly. You'd rather wait for someone else. "

About 13 percent of the vaccine would remain, the Bavarian government announced on Monday.

A number that Böck considers realistic.

“The fact is”, “emphasizes Böck.

"Up to now we have had to throw away a vial because it fell or because the contents were contaminated." But never because the vaccine would not have been advanced.

District office reacts to lull with plan B.

After the extremely poor response to the special campaign, the district office has now also drawn up a plan B.

As official spokeswoman Eva Zimmerhof announced to the FT, vaccinations will now be carried out on people who have been invited through the system on the first weekend in July.

"All PCR positives who had already registered by email for this weekend were reloaded to the second weekend." All citizens aged 18 and over can now register for the second weekend without any prioritization.

But even if there was still a vaccine left over, Böck said it could be kept for several months.

If the worst comes to the worst, the Astrazeneca could be closed until autumn - when the incidence is likely to rise again and third party vaccinations may be due.

Not only those who have recovered, but everyone over the age of 18 can register for the campaign

Böck is currently satisfied with the delivery quantities.

You get enough vaccine and have all varieties available.

"Including the special campaigns, we currently manage 6,000 to 7,000 vaccinations per week."

Citizens over 18 who are interested in the vaccination campaign on 10./11.

If you still want to register in July, write to vaccination-ohne-prio@kvfreising.brk.de - stating your first and last name, date of birth and mobile phone number.
