Lapid in the Emirates: "Calls on the countries of the region to talk to us, thanks to Netanyahu - the architect of the agreements"
Lapid landed in the Emirates with a delegation from his office for the first official visit of an Israeli minister to the country.
"I would like to thank Netanyahu, who was the architect of the Avraham Accords. This is a historic moment," he said at the inauguration of the embassy in Abu Dhabi.
He is scheduled to meet with his emirate counterpart Ben Zayed, and will arrive in Dubai tomorrow

Foreign Minister Yair Lapid landed this morning (Tuesday) in the United Arab Emirates for the first official visit of an Israeli minister to the United Arab Emirates, following the signing of the peace agreement between the two countries.
Lapid met with his emirate counterpart, Abdullah bin Zayed, and attended the inauguration of the Israeli embassy in Abu Dhabi, where he called for further agreements with countries in the region and thanked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his role in signing the understandings.
"We call on all countries in the region to recognize that Israel is not going anywhere, and to come and talk to us," he said at the ceremony.
"I would like to thank former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who was the architect of the Abrahamic Accords. I would like to thank former Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi. I would like to thank former US President Donald Trump and current US President Go Biden."
