Palestinian prisoner Ghazanfar Abu Atwan continues his open hunger strike for the 56th day in protest against the continuous crimes of the Israeli occupation against Palestinian prisoners in his detention centers amid a serious deterioration in his health.
WAFA news agency quoted a spokesman for the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority, Hassan Abd Rabbo, as saying that the prisoner’s health condition is seriously deteriorating due to the lack of fluids and its impact on the functions of vital organs such as the heart and kidneys, which led to him losing consciousness and suffering from pain throughout his body.
The occupation forces arrested Ghazanfar Abu Atwan, 28, in October 2020.
About 5,300 Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli jails face harsh detention conditions, including 550 prisoners who need urgent medical intervention.
