The car, the target of many criticisms and which we want to ban from our cities because it pollutes too much, was rehabilitated Tuesday during a conference.
“The car is a social bond,”
hammered one of the speakers at this conference devoted to senior mobility.
At the initiative of road safety, this day of reflection focused on elderly motorists, a real issue for our society.
Marked by the growing aging of its population, the latter must prepare to support those who, whatever the age of their arteries, want to continue to ride.

Because seniors are more than ever attached to their car.
In 2008, 79% of 65-74 year olds owned a car.
In 2019, the rate reached 83%, a sign that our seniors do not want to give up their activities.
"They are individuals like the others, unique and autonomous, anchored in social life and who project themselves towards the future"
, recalled the sociologist, Cyrille Dupré-Gazave,
