The US will celebrate "virus independence" on July 4 0:40

After a pandemic-induced hiatus last year, many places in the United States known for their 4th of July celebrations will be back in action in 2021 - and the finishing touch to many of those celebrations?
An impressive fireworks display, of course.
Those who cannot travel to enjoy the shows in person can see many of them on live broadcasts and on television.
From our largest population centers to smaller cities and towns, CNN Travel has rounded up some of the best places in America to watch the 4th of July fireworks and when to go (all times are by city).
Addison, Texas
Addison, a small city in the greater Dallas area, has a great fireworks display.

Saturday, July 3 | Addison Kaboom Town!
This Dallas County city has a population of about 15,300, but it puts on a show that should impress any "bigger is better" Texan.
Although tickets for the celebration at Addison Park Circle are sold out, restaurants and hotels still have packages to see the celebration.
The city will have a live broadcast on its YouTube channel.
The “Freedom Flyover” patriotic air show begins at 7:30 pm, and the fireworks at 9:30 pm.

Birmingham, Alabama
Sunday, July 4 | Thunder on the Mountain:
Alabama's largest city offers a memorable fireworks display with the colossal Vulcan, the world's largest cast-iron statue, as a backdrop.
The Vulcan Park and Museum will close at 6 in the afternoon to prepare the show.
VisitVulcan.com says the top places to see it are Five Points South, Homewood, Vestavia, Mountain Brook, and the UAB campus.
The 9:00 pm show will be televised.

Boston
Boston has one of the most anticipated fireworks displays in the country.

Sunday, July 4 | Fireworks and Pop Music Concert:
This annual event is beloved not only in Boston but throughout New England.
In 2021, the fireworks and concert will be held in different locations.
The fireworks portion stays in Beantown, with a show on Boston Common starting at 10:30 p.m. Meanwhile, the Boston Pops' Independence Day concert will be held in Tanglewood, western Massachusetts. .

Clear Lake, Iowa
Sunday, July 4 | American Independence Celebration:
Minneapolis and Des Moines residents who want to enjoy the charm of Independence Day in a small town without missing out on a great show can head to Little Clear Lake.
This city of about 7,600 people is serious about celebrating American independence.
The events run from Wednesday, June 30 to Monday, July 5.

Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Sunday, July 4 | July 4th Spectacular:
Wouldn't it be nice to listen to the Beach Boys before watching the fireworks fired over the warm ocean waters?
Fort Lauderdale residents will be able to do both this year.
The Beach Boys will perform live from 7:30 to 9 pm, and the seaside fireworks show will begin immediately afterward.
They can also take water taxis to get to the event.

Las Vegas
Sunday, July 4 | Fireworks on the Las Vegas Strip:
Much of Las Vegas is literally a gamble, but it's a pretty safe bet that Las Vegas will put on a dazzling fireworks display.
In fact, there will be various shows and events throughout the area.
But the biggest display will take place on the Strip at 11 p.m., when fireworks will fire simultaneously from the rooftops of Caesars Palace, The Aria, Planet Hollywood, Treasure Island, The Venetian, The STRAT and the new Resorts World.

Sunday, July 4 | Let freedom sing!
Tennessee's capital and country music is set to offer something big in 2021: Country Superstars and the biggest fireworks show in the history of the booming city.
Brad Paisley is the owner of the poster of the musical festivities.
The show begins at 4:00 p.m., and Paisley is expected to take the stage shortly after 8:00 p.m.
The fireworks show, accompanied by the Nashville Symphony, is scheduled to begin at 9:30 pm The city plans four large launch zones downtown to cover more space over the scenic Cumberland River.

Sunday, July 4 | Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Show:
The folks at Macy's aren't resting on their laurels after the Thanksgiving parade.
For the summer, they organize the biggest fireworks show in the country.
Macy's says it has worked to provide up to two miles of space for the public to see the free show.
The live broadcast of the show, which includes Reba McEntire and Black Pumas, begins at 8 pm At around 9:45 pm, fireworks will be launched from boats on the East River.

Held at the iconic Rose Bowl, the live show returns after going virtual last year.
The theme for 2021 is "Celebrate America's Perseverance."

The city where the whole issue of independence became official celebrates this holiday in a big way, with 16 days of events that began on June.
The concert begins at 7 PM and culminates at 9:30 AM with a fireworks display over the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
People who want to see the show from the Benjamin Franklin Parkway can start arriving at 8 pm in the area between Eakins Oval and Logan Circle.

San Diego's Big Bay Boom is a Southern California favorite.

Southern Californians have good options for fireworks displays.
San Diegans can enjoy the Big Bay Boom, in which fireworks are launched from four barges in San Diego Bay.
Suggested places to see them are Coronado Ferry Landing, Harbor Island.
Shelter Island, Marina District and North Embarcadero.
Also, anyone who owns a boat has great options to see them.
The fireworks begin at 9 p.m. and will be broadcast live in various locations in California.

Missouri's largest city has an enviable setting for a fireworks show: the Gateway Arch and the mighty Mississippi River.
The Saint Louis Fair says it will be the biggest 4th of July fireworks it has ever produced.

Sunday, July 4 | "A Capitol Fourth" and Fireworks:
No summary of the 4th of July celebrations and fireworks displays is complete without a ticket from the nation's capital.
The 41st Annual Capitol Fourth Concert, hosted by Vanessa Williams, will be broadcast on PBS, although this year it will be recorded as a precaution.
It starts at 8 in the afternoon.
As for the fireworks, they will be launched at 9:09 p.m. from both sides of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Though the show is being held again in many cities across the country, some of the favorites have been canceled for 2021.
Among them are Lake Tahoe's "Lights on the Lake" and New Orleans' "Go 4th on the River."
