The branch of the Syrian Telecom Company in Lattakia started installing broadband platforms to provide new internet gates in Saqoubin complex with a capacity of 512 gates and Jableh PBX with a capacity of 1024 gates as part of its plan for this year, which includes 25,000 gates.

The director of the company’s branch, Ahmed Al-Hayek, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the branch started installing broadband platforms to provide new gates under a central contract in both Saqoubin and Jableh centers. Tishreen in Lattakia.

Al-Hayek indicated that the branch has a plan to expand the number of gates in 20 telephone centers across the entire geography of the governorate in the cities and rural areas of the governorate to meet the increasing demand for the Internet while preparing the necessary infrastructure for it, which will be worked on within these centers successively with different capacities, indicating that the branch is preparing to receive a new unit With a capacity of 1024 gates, it will be installed in the South Corniche exchange, pointing out that the branch, with the announcement of the availability of the gates, will give subscribers two days to review the exchange via a message to the subscriber's number to install the service, which will be done according to the priority of registration.

Al-Hayek pointed out that the branch is also implementing main and subsidiary telephone networks, copper and optical link networks in the village of Al-Bour in the countryside of Qardaha serving the neighboring villages and in the village of Halabko of the town of Beit Yashout in the countryside of Jableh, stressing that the implementation of the projects is linked to the availability of equipment provided by central contracts to the company and from there to the branch.

Hayek noted that the branch continues to provide the "Viber Net" service, which started last year to secure the Internet via optical fibers at high speeds ranging between 6 and 200 megabytes, targeting commercial and social events and subscribers requesting this service, explaining that so far seven light booths have been implemented for this purpose in The city of Lattakia, and the number of subscribers to this service reached 180.

Al-Hayek explained that with the completion of this plan, the number of Internet subscribers in the governorate will exceed 200,000, as the current number of subscribers has reached 180,000.
