Twelve years of imprisonment for Giuseppe Montella, the police officer considered the leader of the group of the Levante barracks in Piacenza which last year, in full lockdown, was closed after drug dealing and torture on the detainees emerged.
This is the sentence pronounced in abbreviated form by the court, after the prosecutor had asked for a sentence of 16 years.
The other members of the group were also sentenced: 8 and 6 years respectively to Salvatore Cappellano and Giacomo Falanga, three years and four months to the carabiniere Daniele Spagnolo and four to the former station commander Marco Orlando.
