The Fiumicino airport in Rome has unveiled a mural symbol of the reactivation of passenger traffic in Europe once the vaccination campaign began.

It shows none other than Leonardo Da Vinci in a modern version, with a tattooed arm, sunglasses and a T-shirt that says "I love Roma", along with one of his most famous works, the Mona Lisa, also dressed of tourist.

In the mural, the painter does not wear a mask, but rather holds it in his hand as if to show that it is not necessary.

The work is called "Flying Away from Covid" and is by the Italian Salvatore Benintende, whose stage name is TvBoy.

It has been placed in Terminal 1 of the Fiumicino airport, which bears precisely the name of Da Vinci.

Airports of Rome, the entity that presented the initiative, explains that the work was released on a particular date: when Europe launched the so-called digital certificate of covid-19. It is a health travel passport that allows citizens of the European Union to move within the block safely. Those who have it can show that they have been vaccinated, that they are negative to the coronavirus test or that they have recovered from the disease.

Currently, according to the Italian Ministry of Health, in the country there are almost 19 million vaccinated people, equivalent to 34.68% of the population over 12 years of age.

The tourism sector is looking forward to the restoration of air traffic to receive as many tourists as possible and for the works of Da Vinci to once again be admired by people from all over the world in person.
