At the general assembly of the BRK district association Dachau, Bernhard Seidenath was re-elected as BRK district chairman for the next four years with 74 of 94 votes.

Dachau - The second deputy district chairwoman Angelika Gumowski also received a high level of approval: She was confirmed in office with 86 of 96 valid votes.

Jörg Westermair is new to the top management team.

The 51-year-old from Indersdorfer was elected with 87 yes-votes and is Bernhard Seidenath's deputy.

The previous first deputy district chairman, Johann Ramsteiner, was no longer a candidate.

The BRK district chairman Seidenath is looking forward to the next four years full of energy.

“Last but not least, Corona has shown that our society needs charities and especially the Red Cross.

We want to put our heart and soul into our motto 'helping people' over the next four years - and at the same time establish new offers that people increasingly need, such as day care for the elderly. "

In his report, Seidenath announced the number of volunteers to the members: 1776 women and men are currently volunteering in the Red Cross Dachau.

"That is an unbelievable number for which I am very grateful," said Seidenath and added: "The Red Cross is a charitable organization that is run and shaped on a voluntary basis."

The number of full-time employees has increased significantly in recent years, to currently 428. "This is also due to our Dachau vaccination center, in which we currently employ 79 women and men," explained Seidenath.

The chairman was happy and grateful for the high number of 8,303 sponsoring members who financially support the Red Cross "and without whom we would not be able to carry out our tasks in the usual way".

The new deputy district chairman, Jörg Westermair, is a full-time manager at Flughafen München GmbH. The 51-year-old came to the BRK through a first aid course in his youth. A medical course, to which he was unexpectedly invited, excited him about the Red Cross idea. He volunteered in the readiness of his home community of Indersdorf and contributed to the success and growth of readiness as deputy and later on-call manager. Among other things, he managed to establish the emergency doctor in the community. For eight years he also served as the district standby leadership. For four years he has been a member of the extended board of directors of the BRK Dachau and the office of deputy district chairman is not new to him.He was already at the side of the former district chairman, Albert Third Prize, who headed the BRK district association from 2005 to 2013. Volunteering is important to him. “We must continue to strengthen and promote it, because volunteering is the backbone of the Red Cross,” said Westermair. At the same time, it is essential to present yourself as a modern and attractive employer: "We need a balance between full-time and voluntary work."

Angelika Gumowski was also happy about her re-election. Nicolá Schuster was elected as the new treasurer - and successor to Bernhard Will - and Alexander Keinert remains his deputy.
