Almost half of the 31-kilometer route has already been expanded.

Extensive construction work is only necessary for the Putzbrunn area.

Bridge structures in the north are expensive

The costs of 843,000 euros incurred for this are offset by investments of over 3.5 million euros in bridge structures on the north tangent.

More cyclists in the Würmtal and Isar valleys

All in all, the southern bypass also attracts significantly more cyclists than its sister in the north.

For the first part of the route from Ottobrunn to Putzbrunn, the planners are even forecasting 3000 bike rides a day.

That is a peak value.

Route from Oberschleißheim not so attractive

The worst result was achieved by the section from Oberschleißheim through the forest towards the B13 with 640 journeys per day.

A potential of at least 1000 journeys per day is considered profitable.

This value is exceeded without exception on the other corridors of the two tangents.

The north has an average of 1700 and the south 4300 journeys every day.

From 2000 journeys, the quality standards of a cycle superhighway apply: three meters wide for traffic in one direction.

It should be possible to reach 20 kilometers per hour.

The planners are assuming 33 million euros for both tangents.

The high investments in infrastructure, planning and land acquisition mean that the route kilometer in the north costs 1.3 million euros over a total of 13 kilometers.

In the south, only 0.5 million euros per kilometer are incurred over 31 kilometers.

Operational savings

The planners contrast the high expenditures with considerable savings in operating costs, maintenance, health care, quality of life and the benefits gained for the environment.

The bottom line is that both tangents are considered profitable, more in the south than in the north.

With a benefit-cost value of 1.08, the north tangent alone would be worth the investment.

The bicycle route differs in parts from previous drafts. The study is available to the municipalities in detail. The parliamentary groups recommend that the municipalities consult initiatives such as the General German Bicycle Club (ADFC) and agenda groups when making local decisions.
