Ventilation devices in all classrooms until after the summer holidays: this is the goal that the Free State has set.

In the Miesbach district, implementation is considered difficult.

- Prime Minister Markus Söder wants to "make steam when airing" at schools in Bavaria.

And culture minister Michael Piazolo (FW) also makes it clear that the goal of equipping every school building with mobile ventilation devices until after the holidays is "significantly more than a request".

This is an announcement to the municipalities and districts that they should bear 50 percent of the acquisition costs.

The Miesbach district office, as the material cost manager for the secondary schools in the district, has so far "no information" on how exactly this is all supposed to happen, says spokeswoman Sophie Stadler when asked by our newspaper.

It is neither known under which framework conditions the procurement should take place, nor is it clear which classrooms should be equipped with the ventilation devices at all.

They also have no information on any funding programs or possible collective orders.

Nevertheless, the district has not been idle in recent months, says Stadler.

For example, the Tegernsee grammar school, the Miesbach vocational school center and the Hausham support center received ventilation systems at the beginning of the year.

But only for the rooms that are problematic to ventilate.

The grammar school and the Fachoberschule Holzkirchen as well as the Realschule Tegernseer Tal in Gmund, all of which were only built in the past ten years in a public-private partnership, are already "factory-fitted" with regulated ventilation systems including the appropriate filters.

District office fears long delivery times

So far, when assessing the necessity of such an investment, the recommendations of the Federal Environment Agency have been based, explains Stadler.

In terms of infectiology, the general opinion up to now has been that only poorly ventilated rooms require technical equipment.

If all Bavarian municipalities now order air cleaning devices for their schools, long delivery times can be expected.

Due to the amount of the expected order sums, Europe-wide tenders are also necessary.
